Performance Art
A mixture of Performance Art pieces from my degree at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Enjoy!
#POLITICALPIECE - 15/03/2018
A Few Remarks
"#POLITICALPIECE was produced in response to the task of making a piece of text based around the theme 'ON MATTER'. I took this in the direction of what is made to matter after being inspired by NETWORK. Initial developments saw a more exposed narrative that history is merely a repetition of past events with a more angry tone (see a Work in Progress below.) However, the piece didn't invoke the audience feeling I wanted, so the piece became a broadcast followed by the same monologue delivered in a more humorous, tongue in cheek manner.
The piece was performed as a part of my first year showcase after nine weeks of development. #POLITICALPIECE is acting as a departure point for an hour long solo piece currently in development for performance this Summer."
WORK IN PROGRESS PERFORMANCE - 08/03/2018
“And now on Powell’s World Network, it’s everyone’s favourite tragic comedy, The News with our timeless reporter Matthew Powell. Please note the following contains Politicians which some viewers may find disturbing.”
We are overconsumed by politics.
We are overconsumed by the same headlines year after year.
#POLITICALPIECE is an overconsumption of the world and a call to change it.
